LTCM and Faith: Why We Help Everyone, Regardless of Background

Our roots are in faith. Our doors are open to all.

Lake Travis Crisis Ministries was born out of a simple conviction: that we are called to love one another. When a group of local church women started a food pantry in 1988 — with the entire food supply stored in a single walk-in closet — they weren't building an institution. They were following a calling.

Ecumenical From the Beginning

LTCM has always been ecumenical, which means we are supported by multiple faith communities across the Lake Travis area — Catholic, Protestant, and beyond — but we serve everyone. You don't have to belong to a church to walk through our door. You don't have to share our beliefs. You just have to be a neighbor in need.

"Lake Travis Crisis Ministries is an all-volunteer, ecumenical, Christian outreach mission that provides food, love, prayer, financial assistance, and encouragement to those in crisis."

Love in Action

Our foundation is the example of Jesus to love one another — not as an abstract idea, but as a practical, daily commitment. That means showing up every Wednesday and Thursday. It means stocking shelves, reviewing bills, handing out groceries, and sitting with someone who is scared. It means treating every person who walks through our door as someone of infinite worth.

What This Means for You

If you're hesitant to come because you're not sure you 'qualify' or you don't share our faith background — please hear this: you are welcome here. The only thing that matters to us is that you are a neighbor who needs help.

Serving With Dignity

We know it takes courage to ask for help. We take that seriously. Every volunteer at LTCM is committed to making your experience feel safe, respectful, and free of judgment. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, you are treated as a valued member of this community — because you are.
